Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Catering Assistant to support daily operation of the Catering Unit under the supervision of the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor. You will play a key role in food prep, service delivery and maintaining hygienic standards.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills, with a focus on delivering good food and customer service to pupils and staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages, including preparation of vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking, including reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks including transported meals.
• Assisting with promotion of meals to pupils, parents and principal.
• Maintaining contact with central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Preparing the dining area and setting tables, cutlery and serving points.
• Completing general kitchen and dining room duties including washing up and clearing away equipment.
• Cleaning the kitchen/servery, dining room and equipment; recording temperatures as needed.
• Carrying out duties to comply with legal requirements and company policies.
• Complete duties up to same grade and promote school values.
