Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a Catering Assistant to participate in daily catering operations in a school setting. You will assist with food and beverage preparation, basic cooking, and serving meals to pupils and staff, while maintaining hygienic standards and promoting meals.

You will also help with dining area setup, cleaning, stock and records, and liaise with the central kitchen to ensure smooth service delivery. A focus on safety and equality is required.

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages and vegetable prep.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared foods.
• Organising and controlling dining service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks.
• Promoting meals to pupils, parents and staff.
• Maintain contact with central kitchen for service delivery.
• Prepare dining area and set tables and serving points.
• Clean kitchen, servery and dining areas; wash up and clear surfaces.
• Record temperatures for control purposes; secure premises.
• Complete duties per regulatory requirements and school ethos.
