Job summary

5 Star Recruitment is seeking a Catering Assistant for School Meals in a primary school setting. The post involves basic food preparation, simple cooking, and serving meals to pupils and staff.

As part of the kitchen team you will transport meals, maintain HACCP records, perform dining room duties, and ensure cleanliness. You will also follow health and safety policies and assist with routine tasks across sites as required.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety

• Experience in School Meals
• Ability to communicate in Welsh
• Cooking ability
• Desire to progress, NVQ etc

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages e.g. preparing vegetables, salad items, and fruit etc. Simple cooking e.g. preparation of snacks.
• Transporting and serving meals to the customers, and completion of HACCP records.
• General kitchen and dining room duties e.g. washing up, setting up and clearing away food and moving tables and chairs.
• Cleaning of the kitchen, its surround and equipment.
• Undertake any other duties which are commensurate with the general nature and grade of the post, as instructed by the Cook in Charge.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures including the code of corporate governance, health and safety, risk management procedures and financial regulations.
