Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is recruiting a Catering Assistant to support the daily operation of the school catering unit under supervision. You will prepare food, assist with serving meals, and help promote meals to pupils and parents.

The role requires good communication, teamwork, and the ability to work in a busy school environment, maintaining hygiene and following regulations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Basic food and beverage preparation, including vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points and serving meals.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks including transported meals.
• Promoting meals to pupils, parents and the principal where appropriate.
• Maintaining contact with the central kitchen about service delivery.
• Setting dining areas: tables, chairs, benches and serving points.
• General kitchen and dining room duties including washing up and cleaning.
