Job summary

Berkeley Scott Limited is seeking experienced Kitchen Assistants for temporary daytime work in school kitchens across Buckinghamshire's HP postcode areas. You will support existing catering teams with basic food preparation, serving meals, washing up and maintaining cleanliness to required standards.

These flexible agency shifts offer holiday pay and the chance to gain experience in different school environments, with daytime shifts and a reliable, punctual approach preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' kitchen or catering experience.
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS suitable for working in schools.
• Experience as Kitchen Assistant, Catering Assistant, General Assistant or similar catering role.
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable and punctual approach.
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently.
• Positive and professional attitude.
• Availability for daytime school shifts.
• Experience in schools or education catering advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with basic food preparation
• Preparing ingredients ready for service
• Serving meals to pupils and staff
• Setting up and clearing down service areas
• Washing kitchen equipment, utensils and crockery
• Keeping work surfaces and kitchen areas clean and organised
• Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Carrying out general cleaning and kitchen duties as required
