Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking Public Health Nursing Assistants to support the Isle of Wight 0-19 Service. The role involves delivering NCMP screenings, hearing and vision checks, and promoting health with schools, children, and families.

Under the guidance of Specialist Community Public Health Nurses, PHNAs will collaborate with families and other professionals to improve health outcomes and wellbeing for school-age children.

Formación

• Has an NVQ3 in Health Care, Nursery Nurse or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enjoys working with children, young people and families.
• Organised, reliable and able to work as part of a team.
• Good computer skills and experience of Excel.
• Values equality, inclusion and culturally sensitive practice.
• Has a passion for improving public health and wellbeing.
• Has a full driving licence and use of a car.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake screening of Reception year and Year 6 children under NCMP and The Healthy Child Programme (5-19).
• Deliver universal hearing screening per UK National Screening Committee recommendations.
• Deliver universal vision screening per UK National Screening Committee recommendations.
• Coordinate data collection via NCMP with parents/carers to support weight management follow-up.
• Send NCMP letters to families to support healthy weight in children.
• Manage delegated work with initiative and prioritize workload to meet requirements.
• Adhere to safeguarding and Trust policies and procedures.
