Job summary

Golborne Community Primary School is seeking a Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the school buildings and grounds. The role includes maintenance planning, compliance checks, energy monitoring, budget management, and supervising site staff and cleaners.

The post involves out-of-hours duties as required to ensure security and to advise the headteacher on closures. Visa sponsorship is not available and the start is as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations so buildings and premises are clean, in good repair and safe for users
• Resolve all site-related issues and maintain a site development plan that prioritises maintenance needs
• Support the headteacher and chief operations officer in setting strategy for managed operational areas
• Prepare and organise maintenance programmes for all site needs
• Prepare, plan, organise and record compliance checks
• Monitor energy use and costs, involving staff and pupils in savings
• Organise, manage and supervise site staff, and plan own workload to school priorities
• Recruit, appraise and train school cleaners as needed
• Manage operational-area contracts in liaison with the headteacher and chief operations officer
• Manage site and grounds budgets in liaison with the headteacher
• Attend site outside working hours when needed to advise the headteacher on unavoidable closures
• Act as key holder for the building and grounds, including routine and non-routine opening and securing; called out after hours only as a last resort, as an outside agency responds first
