Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in premises and grounds maintenance.
• Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
• Ability to follow policies and report concerns to the Premises Manager.
• Capability to operate alarm systems and heating/hot water plant.
• Flexibility for out-of-hours access and lettings activities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for routine and emergency opening/closing of school premises and grounds.
• Carry out security and evacuation procedures in line with United Learning and School policies.
• Maintain knowledge of current legislation and report concerns to Premises Manager.
• Ensure Health & Safety regulations are followed under Premises Manager guidance.
• Carry out duties involving alarm systems and minibus safety checks; arrange maintenance.
• Coordinate contractor access during and outside opening hours as needed.
• Manage deliveries, storage, and records; support resource ordering with Finance Team.
• Move furniture for events and set up the main hall; replace light sources and maintain fittings.
• Carry out lettings duties and related cleaning after hours; perform other duties as required.
