Job summary

MyNewTerm in the United Kingdom is seeking a proactive Site Manager to join the School’s Health & Safety Team. You will oversee building development, maintenance, and security, liaising with external agencies and contractors to keep the site safe and well functioning.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, project management for new works, budget liaison, reporting to the Principal and SLT, and supervising cleaning and caretaking staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee building development and maintenance to ensure premises are in good order
• Monitor staff tickets via the site work request log and respond promptly
• Ensure statutory compliance for the buildings and facilities
• Plan and investigate new works in consultation with the Principal
• Provide advice on new works and manage projects
• Develop and manage works to maximise building usage and income
• Liaise with external agents/contractors for new/existing works
• Supervise caretaking and cleaning staff; maintain high cleaning standards
• Ensure site security, access, CCTV, alarms, and safety policies are followed
• Be the main contact for contractors; oversee risk assessments and sign off work
• Support the Principal on safeguarding, budget management, and facilities procurement
• Prepare the site for major events and open evenings
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, tools, and equipment
• Read and follow trust policies on health and safety and equal opportunities
• Manage stock and procurement within budget; monitor energy and water consumption
• Ensure safe access during cold weather and maintain grounds and external areas
• Support public relations and be a visible presence during events
• Ensure relationships with staff, parents, governors, and students are positive
