Qualifications

• Experience in caretaker or facilities role within education or public sector.
• Basic skills across building fabric, carpentry, plumbing and decorating.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in educational settings.
• Good communication and ability to work independently.
• DBS check enhanced required or willingness to obtain.
• Flexible with working hours.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure school buildings and grounds.
• Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs and decorating.
• Conduct regular health and safety checks.
• Monitor site security and respond to alarms.
• Set up rooms for events and meetings.
• Manage waste and keep external areas clean.
• Liaise with contractors and support planned maintenance.
• Report defects and hazards promptly.
