Job summary

AWD online is recruiting a Facilities Manager / Premises Manager to help keep a busy school safe, compliant, well maintained and welcoming. Working with the Site Manager, you will oversee maintenance, cleanliness, contractors and day-to-day premises operations.

You will coordinate premises, caretaking and cleaning teams, carry out regular checks and support planned maintenance and estates systems. The role requires practical facilities experience, strong organisation and solid health and safety

Qualifications

• Experience in a facilities management role.
• Experience managing a team, including cleaners and caretakers.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and other relevant legislation.
• Understanding of health and safety and security issues.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.

Responsibilities

• Premises operations: Support the Site Manager with the maintenance, cleanliness, safety and smooth day-to-day operation of the school premises
• Team coordination: Coordinate and supervise premises officers, caretaking and cleaning teams to support safe, efficient and high-quality service delivery
• Contractor management: Support external contractors, coordinate works and help ensure activities are completed safely and effectively
• Inspections and checks: Carry out regular inspections and daily, weekly and monthly checks, identifying maintenance, repair and improvement requirements
• Planned maintenance: Support planned maintenance schedules and respond effectively to operational and maintenance needs
• Compliance and records: Support health and safety compliance and digital estates systems, maintaining accurate records and required checks
• Budget support: Assist with maintenance budgets and help ensure resources are used effectively
• School support: Work with school leadership and the wider community to respond to premises needs, emergencies and lettings requirements
