Job summary

Equans UK & Ireland in Blackburn seeks a Lifecycle Technician to support maintenance and lifecycle replacement works on Lancashire Schools sites. The role is permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week, based in Blackburn.

You will carry out joinery repairs, minor upgrading, site surveys, and liaise with the Projects Team to minimise disruption to school timetables. The ideal candidate will have FM maintenance experience, multi-tasking abilities, and strong liaising with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• Previously worked in a FM maintenance environment (ideally education environment)
• Sufficient experience in the construction / building maintenance industry
• Good all-round a decoration ability
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
• Experience liaising with clients, contractors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Respond in a timely manner to breakdown requests.
• Manufacture and fit items where required
• Carry out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
• Safely operate all types of hand and power tools in accordance with health & safety and manufacturers' guidelines.
• Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to health & safety and infection control procedures.
• Maintain records as appropriate.
• Undertake a willingness to assist and work flexibly with other trades.
• Ensure that there is minimum disruption to the schools whilst carrying out work.
• Respond in a safe manner to the effects of bad weather, eg. snow clearing, gritting, flooding, high winds, etc.
• Undertake training where necessary to maintain and develop the requirements of the service.
• Collaborate and co-operate with partners and colleagues to deliver a customer focussed service.
• Assist the Projects Team in the delivery of lifecycle replacement programmes across multiple sites.
• Assist with site surveys, asset condition assessments and the collection of information required to support lifecycle planning.
• Monitor progress of lifecycle projects and provide updates to the Lifecycle Manager and Project Managers where required.
• Liaise and undertake duties at other EQUANS projects as directed.
