Job summary

EQUANS are seeking a Multiskilled Electrician to join our maintenance team servicing 11 schools across Lancashire and Blackburn. The role is permanent, full‑time, 40 hours per week, based in Blackburn with a competitive salary and benefits.

You will perform PPMs, fault finding, and building services maintenance, ensuring safety and efficiency. The position includes an on‑call rota and energy management duties as part of a dynamic facilities team.

Qualifications

• HBTV Electrical qualifications including 18th Edition and testing/inspection knowledge.
• FM maintenance background; ideally in an educational environment.
• Experience with fire door maintenance.
• On-call rota participation.
• DBS clearance essential.
• Good understanding of boiler/heating/lighting/power services.
• Ability to follow site and company policies; flexible for out-of-hours work.
• Full UK driving license; vehicle provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out building maintenance as a multiskilled Technician.
• Provide technical solutions for PPM work and fault rectification.
• Undertake fault finding and diagnosis, communicating technical knowledge to others.
• Maintain knowledge of plant status, building conditions, and services availability.
• Assist with energy management across the project.
• Be an Authorised Person for specific maintenance responsibilities (e.g. Low Voltage AP).
• React to technical issues and support the team; maintain planned/reactive schedules.
