Job summary

PRS (Phoenix Resourcing Services) is seeking a reliable Caretaker to cover a school site in Kirby. The role involves general maintenance, security, reception duties, and contractor management on a contract until December 2026.

Shifts run from 6am to 2pm and 10am to 6pm, with occasional weekend work. Flexibility to perform shift duties and respond to site needs is required, including safety compliance and site documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in general site management and customer-facing roles.
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
• Familiar with health & safety practices and site security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general site operations including planned and reactive maintenance, porterage, security, and reception.
• Present a consistently customer-focused presence at the site.
• Ensure building security and lock/unlock procedures.
• Maintain visitor books and sign-in of contractors.
• Carry out reactive tasks and minor works as directed by management.
• Manage external contractors and issue access permits while following H&S guidelines.
• Conduct monthly meter readings and fire alarm testing where required.
• Adhere to COSHH guidelines and safe storage of chemicals.
• Respond to school requests promptly and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Undertake training and overtime as required.
