Job summary

Vertas is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join our Facilities Team at Dunham on Trent C of E Primary School. The role covers 10 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 06:00–08:00, 43 weeks/year) with 1.5 hours caretaking and 0.5 hours cleaning daily, to keep the premises safe, secure, and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking, site management, maintenance or cleaning experience is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Good communication and problem solving skills.
• A proactive and reliable approach to work.
• An understanding of health and safety requirements.
• The ability to adapt and respond to change in a growing organisation.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school premises
• Carrying out routine health and safety checks
• Undertaking basic maintenance and repair tasks
• Monitoring the condition of the building and grounds
• Supporting contractors and site visitors when required
• Completing daily cleaning duties across designated areas
• Ensuring the school site remains clean, safe and welcoming
