Job summary

Avanti Schools Trust is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to support a safe, well-maintained school environment in Stanmore, North West London. You will coordinate maintenance, supervise teams, and manage contractor activity to keep facilities running smoothly.

The role requires experience in facilities management, team leadership, strong health and safety knowledge, and a commitment to safeguarding students and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management
• Experience managing a team including cleaners and caretakers
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and other relevant legislation
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of all students

Responsibilities

• Premises Operations: Support the Site Manager with day-to-day maintenance, cleanliness, safety and smooth operation of the premises
• Team and Contractor Coordination: Coordinate and supervise premises, caretaking and cleaning teams and external contractors, helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
• Maintenance Checks and Planning: Carry out regular inspections and scheduled checks, identify repair and improvement needs and support planned maintenance
• Compliance and Records: Support health and safety compliance and digital estates systems, maintaining accurate records
• Budgets and Resources: Support maintenance budgets and contractor activity, helping ensure resources are used effectively
• Stakeholder Support: Work with the Site Manager, Principal, Business Support Manager and wider school community to respond to premises needs, emergencies and lettings requirements
