Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking an experienced Cover Estates Technician to work within a local school in Stoke-on-Trent. The role involves supporting daily maintenance, security and upkeep of the school site, with a practical, reliable, and adaptable approach.

The successful candidate will handle minor repairs, safety checks and collaborate with staff and contractors to keep the site welcoming and functional for students and staff. Availability to start ASAP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in estates, facilities, maintenance or similar role.
• Hands-on maintenance skills and reliability.
• Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and punctuality.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs across the school site.
• Help ensure the buildings, facilities and grounds are safe and well maintained.
• Respond to day-to-day maintenance issues and site requirements.
• Carry out regular checks of the premises and report issues.
• Support opening, closing and security of the school site as required.
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment and resources around the school.
• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
• Liaise with contractors and external service providers as needed.
• Follow health and safety procedures and safeguarding requirements.
