Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment seeks a Maintenance Technician / Site Manager for a school in Stoke-on-Trent. You will oversee daily maintenance of buildings and grounds, coordinate contractors, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to keep the site safe, welcoming, and fully operational.

Responsibilities include inspections, basic repairs, site security, grounds upkeep, and budget awareness, with safeguarding duties and availability outside normal hours when required.

Qualifications

• Good standard of general education (GCSEs or equivalent).
• Relevant maintenance, building services, or facilities management qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Health and Safety qualification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections of school buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs, including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating, and minor electrical work where competent.
• Coordinate contractors and arrange repairs where specialist contractors are required.
• Maintain heating, lighting, ventilation, and water systems to ensure efficient operation.
• Open and secure the school buildings each day and monitor site security.
