Job summary

Reed is seeking an Estates Manager to lead the day-to-day management of a prestigious school estate. You will oversee facilities, health & safety compliance, site security and contractor management to provide a safe, well-maintained environment for pupils and staff.

Reporting to the Bursar, you will manage caretaking, grounds, transport teams, drive efficiency, oversee project works and ensure compliance with regulations, while leading a proactive facilities team.

Qualifications

• Experience in Estates, Facilities or Property Management.
• Proven people management experience.
• NEBOSH Level 3 Health & Safety qualification is required.
• Building, engineering or trade-related qualification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and facilities compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead caretaking, grounds and transport teams.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across the school estate.
• Act as Fire Safety Officer for the site.
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations.
• Manage contractors, service providers and facilities budgets.
• Coordinate estate improvement and refurbishment projects.
• Oversee school fleet operations and external lettings.
• Monitor utilities consumption and drive efficiency.
