Are you an innovative School Cook committed to improving the lives of pupils and young people?

We are looking for a School Cook for our New Options School - Riseley Green School in Riseley, Berkshire. The school will have a capacity for 60 pupils aged 4-16 years old and is due to open in May 2025.

Our New Options School will cater for pupils who have ASC and Complex Needs.

  • £20,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday, 30 hours per week
  • Permanent, Term Time only

We have an exciting opportunity to join our brand-new school, Riseley Green, as a School Cook.

About the role

You will be responsible for planning and preparing high-quality food and catering services for the school, managing and supervising all kitchen staff.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Plan menus considering the dietary needs of our young people
  • Monitor stocks by date rotation, portion control, and quality, adhering to budget controls
  • Set up and clean down kitchen areas daily
  • Prepare for daily and weekly demands of the school
  • Minimize waste effectively
  • Provide suitable food options for staff and pupils with special dietary requirements
