Job Title:School Cook

Location: Falkland House School, Falkland KY15 7AE

Salary: £24,500.00 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 9.30am - 5.30pm, Friday 7.00am - 1.00pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a School Cook to join our close-knit team at Falkland House School,part of Options Autism.

About the role

To be responsible for the planning and preparation of high-quality food and catering service to the school, andto manage and supervise all kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities

• To plan menus for the schoolwith reference to the dietary needs of our pupils
• To undertake the monitoring of stocks by date rotation, portion control and quality and in accordance with the budgetary controls set
• To set up and clean down the kitchen areas before and after day-to-day use
• To ensure that necessary preparation is undertaken for the day/weekly demand/needs of the school
• To be observant of the need to minimise waste
• To provide suitable food to staff/pupils with special dietary requirements

Falkland House School is an independent residential and day school for boys from primary to aged 18 years. Our pupils have a range of additional support needs, primarily Autistic Spectrum Condition. We were the first independent school in Scotland (outside of the NAS) to receive accreditation from the National Autistic Society. All of our pupils are able to access a mainstream curriculum, but not in a mainstream environment.
