Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking School Cleaners to support primary and secondary schools across South Manchester and Trafford, providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils and staff. Previous cleaning experience is preferred, and reliable, professional conduct is expected.

The role features split shifts roughly 6:30am - 8:30am and 3:30pm - 6:30pm, offering flexible hours around the school day. DBS update on request is advised, with safeguarding support available during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, corridors, offices and communal areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and dust throughout the school.
• Clean toilets and washrooms, replenish supplies.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
• Report maintenance or health and safety concerns.
• Follow school cleaning schedules and hygiene procedures.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the site.

Start: ASAP

Pay: GBP14.26 - GBP16.64 per hour

Contract: Part-time opportunities available

As a School Cleaner, you'll play an important role in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. If you take pride in your work and have previous cleaning experience, we'd love to hear from you.

School Cleaner - responsibilities

• Cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices and communal areas.
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting throughout the school.
• Cleaning toilets, washrooms and replenishing supplies.
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
• Ensuring cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
• Reporting any maintenance or health and safety concerns.
• Following school cleaning schedules and hygiene procedures.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the site.

School Cleaner - requirements

• Previous cleaning experience is preferred.

• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality within a school environment.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding and vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy. Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people is responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
