Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is looking for reliable School Cleaners to join school teams across Northampton. Start date is as soon as possible with shifts from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

This term-time position offers competitive pay paid weekly via PAYE and flexible part-time or contract opportunities. Applicants should have an enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply), provide two recent references, and have prior cleaning experience in schools or similar settings.

Qualifications

• Must have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willing to apply.
• Must be able to provide two professional references covering the last 24 months.
• Previous cleaning experience in a school or commercial setting is ideal; strong work ethic and attention to detail are important.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, dust, mop, and polish in classrooms, corridors, and communal areas.
• Clean and sanitize washrooms, toilets, and kitchen facilities to high hygiene standards.
• Safely handle, use, and store cleaning equipment and chemicals per health and safety regulations.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish properly.
• Report maintenance issues or hazards to school staff.
• Ensure compliance with health, hygiene and COSHH regulations at all times.
• Assist Premises Manager or School Leadership with duties as needed.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Undertake cleaning duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, mopping, and polishing in designated classrooms, corridors, and communal areas.
• Clean and sanitize washrooms, toilets, and kitchen facilities to high hygiene standards.
• Safely handle, use, and store cleaning equipment and chemical products in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish correctly and responsibly.
• Report any maintenance issues, repairs, or hazards immediately to the appropriate school personnel.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, hygiene, and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations at all times.
• Undertake such duties as may be considered appropriate by the Premises Manager or School Leadership in line with the needs of the service.

Requirements

• Must have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.

• Previous cleaning or caretaker experience within a school or commercial setting is ideal, though a strong work ethic and attention to detail are most important.
