Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a reliable Cleaner for Parkside School in Barnsley. The role runs 3pm–6pm, Monday to Friday, 15 hours per week for 43 weeks per year. You will work as part of a team to maintain high cleanliness across teaching spaces, offices and communal areas.

No formal qualifications are required; training will be provided. The role supports safeguarding and requires commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications required; attitude and reliability valued.
• Cleaning experience is desirable, but full training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices and communal areas using appropriate equipment (mopping, sweeping, buffing, suction cleaning and machine scrubbing).
• Clean internal surfaces including walls, windows, worktops and sanitary facilities.
• Empty bins and remove waste safely.
• Carry out specialist cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, stain removal and descaling.
• Replenish hygiene supplies (soap, hand towels, toilet rolls).
• Conduct routine equipment safety checks and basic maintenance.
• Report damage, faults or concerns promptly.
• Lock and unlock school premises and ensure site security.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguarding standards at all times.
