Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join our friendly team at Springwell Leeds East. The role helps maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

You will work 15 hours per week across 43 weeks, with shifts from 3pm to 6pm Monday to Thursday and 1pm to 4pm on Fridays, on-site. Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, offices and communal areas, replenishing supplies, safeties checks, and basic maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning classrooms, offices and communal areas using appropriate equipment (mopping, sweeping, buffing, suction cleaning and machine scrubbing)
• Cleaning internal surfaces including walls, windows, worktops and sanitary facilities
• Emptying bins and removing waste safely
• Carrying out specialist cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, stain removal and descaling
• Replenishing hygiene supplies (soap, hand towels, toilet rolls)
• Conducting routine equipment safety checks and basic maintenance
• Reporting damage, faults or concerns promptly
• Locking and unlocking school premises and ensuring site security
• Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding standards at all times
