Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a reliable Cleaner at Parkside School in the Barnsley area. This role is 15 hours per week across 43 weeks per year, from 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with full training provided.

You will work as part of a team to keep classrooms, offices and communal areas clean and safe, adhering to health and safety procedures and safeguarding standards. Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices and communal areas using appropriate equipment (mopping, sweeping, buffing, suction cleaning and machine scrubbing).
• Clean internal surfaces including walls, windows, worktops and sanitary facilities.
• Empty bins and remove waste safely.
• Carry out specialist cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, stain removal and descaling.
• Replenish hygiene supplies (soap, hand towels, toilet rolls).
• Conduct routine equipment safety checks and basic maintenance.
• Report damage, faults or concerns promptly.
• Lock and unlock School premises and ensure site security.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguarding standards at all times.

Wellspring Academy Trust is looking for a reliable and dedicated Cleaner to join our friendly team. This is an important role where you’ll help ensure our schools remain clean, safe and welcoming places for children, staff and visitors.

We currently have a role working 15 hours per week, 43 weeks per year based at Parkside School working 3pm - 6pm Monday to Friday.

Successful applicants will work as part of a team to ensure a high level of customer service, and adhere to procedures such as; health and safety, COSHH and risk assessments.

As a Cleaner, you will carry out a full range of cleaning duties across teaching spaces, offices and communal areas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning classrooms, offices and communal areas using appropriate equipment (mopping, sweeping, buffing, suction cleaning and machine scrubbing)
• Cleaning internal surfaces including walls, windows, worktops and sanitary facilities
• Emptying bins and removing waste safely
• Carrying out specialist cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, stain removal and descaling
