Concept Resources are recruiting for an experienced School Cleaner to work at a primary school in Keyworth, NG12 5BB. This is a temporary position starting on 27th November 2026 until 30th January 2027, working Monday to Friday during afternoon shifts.

The successful candidate will maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• DBS check and Right to Work in the UK required.
• Reliability, punctuality and ability to work independently.
• Good understanding of cleaning procedures and health & safety.
• Experience cleaning in schools or educational settings desirable.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Duties

• Carrying out general daily cleaning, including emptying waste bins, vacuuming carpets, dusting and damp wiping.
• Sweeping, mopping and maintaining floors throughout the school.
• Cleaning and sanitising classrooms, corridors, washrooms and communal areas.
• Operating electrical cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners and floor maintenance machinery.
• Responding to emergency cleaning situations, including floods and bodily fluid spillages, in accordance with safety procedures.
• Replenishing cleaning supplies and washroom consumables.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the school.
• Follow health and safety regulations, COSHH guidelines and safeguarding procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the designated site representative and cleaning colleagues.
• Ensure cleaning records and relevant paperwork are completed and kept up to date.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards or damaged cleaning equipment.
• Complete all allocated cleaning tasks efficiently and within the required timescales.

Requirements

• Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Enhanced DBS with children's barred list check required.
• Previous experience cleaning in schools or educational settings desirable.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Good understanding of cleaning procedures and health and safety.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK.
• Available to start on 27th November 2026.
