Job summary

You will perform daily cleaning across classrooms, offices and washrooms, maintaining safety and hygiene standards in a primary school environment.

The role requires prior cleaning experience in schools or similar settings, ability to work independently, reliable and punctual, and Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning duties across the school premises.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Vacuum carpets and floor coverings.
• Sweep, mop and maintain hard floor surfaces.
• Dust and wipe desks, furniture, fixtures and fittings.
• Clean and sanitise touch points and frequently used surfaces.
• Clean and maintain washrooms, toilets and handwashing facilities.
• Replenish consumables such as soap and toilet rolls and paper towels as required.
• Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to agreed standards and schedules.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment and materials.
• Report maintenance issues, defects or health and safety concerns.
• Follow COSHH, health and safety and school procedures at all times.
• Maintain a professional and reliable approach.
• Support the creation of a safe and hygienic environment for pupils and staff.

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality cleaning services within a primary school environment, ensuring all areas are maintained to a safe, clean and hygienic standard for pupils, staff and visitors.
