Job summary

The Lion Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated cleaner for Maple Grove Primary School in Wallsend to join our facilities team. The role is permanent, part-time at 22.5 hours per week, and focused on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety across the school environment.

The successful candidate will perform cleaning tasks, follow health and safety policies, and contribute to a welcoming, well‑presented learning space for pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning duties and general janitorial tasks.
• Knowledge of health and safety guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties such as mopping, sweeping, dusting and vacuuming.
• Sanitise and disinfect surfaces regularly.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Restock cleaning supplies as needed.
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.

Job description

The ideal candidate will have experience in cleaning and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for carrying out cleaning duties as directed and adhering to the health and safety guidelines as well as Lion Academy Trust's health and safety policies.
