Job summary

Fox Morris Group Ltd in Plymouth is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join our premises team, helping to maintain a clean, safe, tidy and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. You will play a vital part in ensuring our school remains a healthy place to learn and work.

You will carry out general cleaning across classrooms, offices, corridors, halls and washrooms, dusting, sweeping, mopping and sanitising surfaces.

Qualifications

• Able to work efficiently and thoroughly with attention to detail and take pride in your work.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a small team.
• Physically fit to carry out cleaning tasks including lifting, bending and moving equipment.
• Friendly, approachable and respectful towards children, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning of classrooms, offices, corridors, halls, washrooms and communal areas including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and polishing
• Empty, clean and sanitise waste and recycling bins, and dispose of waste responsibly
• Clean and sanitise washroom facilities, replenish consumables (soap, toilet roll, hand towels) and check for leaks or damage
• Clean internal glass doors, windows and display boards as required
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, following all instructions, COSHH guidelines and training provided
• Report any maintenance issues, damage, safety hazards or security concerns to the Premises Manager or Senior Member of Staff promptly
• Ensure all cleaning equipment and stores are kept tidy, secure and in good working order
• Work flexibly to cover absence or additional cleaning duties during school events, deep cleans or holiday periods as reasonably required
• Adhere to all school policies, health and safety rules and safeguarding procedures at all times
