Job summary

Ever Brite Cleaning Services seeks a School Cleaner in Harpole to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for pupils and staff. Responsibilities

• Report maintenance needs, hazards or shortages to the site supervisor.
• Follow COSHH safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals.
• Support occasional deep-cleaning or seasonal tasks as required.

Purpose of the role

To carry out routine and deep cleaning of classrooms, corridors, toilets and communal areas in line with health and safety standards and the school's cleaning schedule. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness, reporting issues, and contributing to a tidy and organised site.

Key responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, corridors, toilets, staff rooms and other designated areas to an agreed standard.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and polish floors; empty bins and replace liners.
• Clean and sanitise surfaces, fixtures and fittings, including touchpoints and washrooms.
• Replenish consumables such as soap and paper towels where required.
• Report maintenance needs, hazards or shortages to the site supervisor or manager.
• Follow safety procedures, COSHH-related guidance and safe use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Support occasional deep-cleaning or seasonal tasks as required.

Essential skills and experience

• Previous experience in cleaning, preferably in an educational, facilities or similar environment.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals, with the ability to follow instructions and labels safely.
• Reliable timekeeping
• Good attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach to tasks.

• Experience working within schools or with children present.
• Familiarity with COSHH and health and safety practices in a cleaning context.
• Basic ability to communicate with staff and to follow routines and checklists.
• This role is paid at £13 per hourwith hours and shift pattern arranged to meet the school's needs. Enhanced DBS is required and if you do not have one, Ever Brite will assist with the application.
• Time: 3.30pm to 6pm
• 2.5 hrs per day.
