Job summary

Lodestone House is seeking a cook/chef in a prestigious Independent School. You will organise and supervise the unit, ensuring a high quality catering service in line with contract specs and regulations.

You will manage resources, lead a small team, prepare meals to standard, and drive efficiency with stock control, cost awareness and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Good Chef Skills.
• Good knowledge and experience of working with food.
• People Management and leadership abilities.
• Strong communication skills and customer focus.
• Results oriented with accountability for outcomes.
• Experience in managing and coaching teams.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience leading a small team.
• Minimum 2 years catering experience.
• Excellent financial acumen.
• IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the unit to Compass Group UK & Ireland standards and regulations.
• Manage the unit to deliver high quality service.
• Prepare, cook and serve food to agreed standards.
• Ensure efficient use of resources, stock and assets.

What You'll Be Doing

• To organise and supervise the unit in accordance with and to the standards required by Compass Group UK & Ireland, the contract specification and statutory Regulations.
• To be responsible for the overall efficient and effective management of the unit under their control providing a quality service.
• Responsible for the preparation, cooking and service of food to agreed standards and specification.
• To ensure the efficient and economic use is made of all resources, including stock, team members and company assets
