Job summary

Travail Employment Group is recruiting a School Chef - Catering Supervisor for a primary school in North Yorkshire. This term-time only role runs Monday to Friday, 7am–2pm, with an hourly rate of 15–16 depending on experience.

You will lead a catering team, ensure meals are prepared to spec and accommodate dietary requirements, supervise stock, maintain records and compliance, and occasionally support other sites. A full driving licence and enhanced DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Term-time only position requiring availability during school hours.
• Experience in catering or school/hospitality management is desirable.
• A full driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure meals are freshly prepared and cooked to company specifications.
• Cater for dietary requirements including allergies.
• Supervise the kitchen team and learning to manage stock efficiently.
• Complete kitchen records and reporting; maintain compliance with legislation.
• Support the area catering manager at other sites when required.

We have an opportunity for you to join a well established facilities management business as a Catering Supervisor based at a primary school in North Yorkshire.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen:

• Ensuring meals are freshly prepared and cooked to company specifications
• Catering for dietary requirements including allergies
• Supervising the kitchen team
• Ordering and managing stock, keeping wastage levels low
• Completing kitchen records and reporting
• Maintaining compliance with legislation
• From time to time support the area catering manager at other sites

As the successful catering supervisor, we would expect you to use your knowledge of safety standards and your professional cookery skills to lead a catering team during the lunch services. As travel between sites may be involved a full driving licence is required.

This would be an ideal role if you have worked as a Chef in a school, care home or hospitality environment and you are looking for a Monday to Friday daytime role.

You will be joining a national facilities management business that work with schools across the UK; providing consistent, reliable and good quality catering services for all their sites.
