Job summary

Lancashire County Council is recruiting for a Unit Catering Supervisor at Presfield High School. This part-time role offers 25 hours per week during term time, with flexible hours and no regular evenings or weekends. You will lead the school kitchen team, ensure quality meals, food safety, and friendly service for pupils and staff.

The post includes term-time only hours with some cleaning days, and involves DBS disclosure as part of our safer recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a catering team.
• Good understanding of food service and operations in a school or similar environment.
• Strong organisational skills and cost control experience.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and serving food and drinks in line with menus.
• Supervising and supporting catering team members.
• Ordering food and managing deliveries and stock levels.
• Maintaining records and stock control systems.
• Ensuring high standards of food safety, cleanliness and kitchen hygiene.
• Creating a welcoming dining experience for pupils and staff.
