Job summary

Lancashire County Council’s School Catering Service is seeking a Unit Catering Supervisor for St Nicolas Primary. You will lead a small kitchen team, prepare and serve healthy meals, manage menus, stock, and safety, and help create a positive dining environment for pupils.

The role is term-time, 26.25 hours per week, with a pro-rata salary. Ideal applicants will be reliable, organized and capable of motivating colleagues; supervisory or team leader qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the day-to-day work of the school kitchen team
• Prepare, cook and serve healthy, nutritious school meals
• Ensure menus and production plans are followed accurately
• Order supplies, monitor stock levels and store deliveries safely
• Maintain catering records and support food safety compliance
• Help create a positive dining experience for pupils
• Ensure the kitchen operates safely, efficiently and to high standards
