Job summary

Holroyd Howe, a leading UK school caterer, seeks a General Catering Assistant at Elstree School to support daily food service delivery. You will assist with preparation, service, and presentation of nutritious meals for pupils, staff and visitors with care and efficiency.

The role is term-time (35 weeks per year) with 20–25 hours per week, paid over 12 months. Ideal candidates are reliable, with health and safety awareness and a flexible, team-focused attitude.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract or high-volume catering.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude and customer-focused.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, service, and presentation of food to a high standard.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas.
• Assist with food labelling, temperature checks, and allergen controls.
• Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors.
• Set up and clear service areas, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
• Follow all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures.
• Contribute to hospitality events and occasional out-of-hours functions.
