Job description

Job Title: Catering Manager

We are recruiting an experienced Catering Manager who is passionate about exceptional food and world-class customer service. This role involves overseeing all catering and service operations for Chartwells within Compass Group UK&I on a part-time basis, contracted to 30 hours per week.

As a Catering Manager, you will ensure our kitchens and service counters operate smoothly and help deliver outstanding food experiences. Shift Pattern

• Monday to Friday: Full-time (Days)
• Saturday and Sunday: Flexible/To be confirmed

Please note: This role is contracted for 44 weeks per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare high-standard, delicious food
• Supervise culinary and catering teams to ensure excellent food quality and customer service
• Oversee catering operations, including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
• Communicate regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and targets
• Represent Compass Group UK&I and maintain a positive brand image
• Identify opportunities for new food or service concepts to increase sales
• Liaise between customers and teams to exceed expectations
• Support and train teams, leading from the front
• Implement and review Health & Safety standards for compliance

Ideal Candidate

• Passionate about great-tasting food and customer service
• Minimum of two years catering experience
• Experience managing teams in a similar role
• NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate
• Strong financial acumen
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ambitious and motivated to upskill
