Job summary

Aramark UK are recruiting an experienced Chef Manager to join our team at Idsall School, TF11 8PD. You will oversee day-to-day running of the unit, plan menus, delegate tasks and lead your team to deliver high-quality meals in a school setting.

This permanent role is term-time only (40 weeks) with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and opportunities for progression within our catering team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar food service environment.
• Innovative approach to menu design with strong attention to detail
• Third level qualification (HACCP/Culinary Arts/Professional Cookery)
• Previous experience in Managing a Catering Team
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and the ability to innovate
• Commercial acumen, strong organisational and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Produce food and introduce new, innovative menus per Aramark standards.
• Ensure daily menus are balanced and meet customer requirements.
• Work with the Operations Manager to exceed client expectations.
• Be flexible with service requirements to suit client requests.
• Maintain financial accountability for catering: sales, GP, labour, overheads.
• Achieve budgeted gross margin through costing and menu planning.
• Maintain Health & Safety and HACCP standards in the unit.
• Lead, develop and manage the catering team.
• Utilize Aramark marketing materials to create consistent menu displays.
