Job summary

Aspens Services in Northallerton is seeking a Catering Assistant to support our school kitchen with basic food preparation and efficient lunchtime service. You’ll handle till duties during service, provide friendly customer service to students and staff, keep the kitchen safe and clean, and help with health and safety compliance. DBS disclosure will be sought.

We offer term-time hours: 15 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, at £12.71 per hour. No late nights, weekends or Christmas work.

Qualifications

• Team player able to work in a busy school kitchen.
• Experience in catering or fast-paced service is preferred.
• Basic health and safety knowledge and practices.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Customer interaction: operate tills during service with training provided.
• Front-line service: deliver friendly, polite service to students and staff.
• Essential support: assist with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining standards: keep kitchen safe, clean and compliant with H&S.
