Job summary

The Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Catering Assistant to support daily meal service in schools. You will assist with basic food preparation, serve meals, and help maintain a clean dining area, working under the supervision of the Catering Manager through appropriate Area Catering Manager.

You will contribute to a hygienic, efficient service, promote meals to pupils and parents, and participate in standard kitchen and dining room duties consistent with the grade.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or customer service is preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure during meal times.
• Willingness to undertake job-related training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food and beverages and assist with simple cooking.
• Organise and control food service points.
• Serve meals and snacks to pupils and transport meals as required.
• Maintain dining area and cleaning duties including washing up and clearing tables.
