Job summary

The Education Authority in Northern Ireland is seeking a Catering Assistant to actively participate in the daily operation of the school catering unit under the guidance of the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor.

You will perform basic food and beverage preparation, assist with simple cooking, manage dining area setup and service, and help maintain high hygiene standards while promoting meals to pupils and staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages, including vegetables and snacks
• Simple cooking, including reconstitution of prepared food
• Organising and controlling food service points
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks to pupils, parents and staff
• Assisting with promotion of meals to pupils and parents
• Maintaining contact with central kitchen regarding service delivery
• Preparing dining area and setting tables, cutlery, and water jugs
• Carrying out kitchen and dining room duties including washing up and cleaning
• Recording temperatures for control purposes and ensuring premises security
• Completing duties in line with legislation and school policies
• Promoting and adhering to the school values and ethos
