Job summary

Baxterstorey is hiring a General Assistant to support dining services at multiple sites around Swindon and nearby areas. The role involves preparing and serving meals, barista duties, and ensuring food safety. Travel to Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke is paid and may be required.

The position is permanent, full-time, offering 32 hours per week from Monday to Thursday, with site-based work across Swindon and surrounding locations.

Qualifications

• Ideally experience in catering
• Barista experience is advantageous
• Good Health & Safety knowledge preferred
• Flexible with a can-do attitude and customer focused
• Energetic, fun, enthusiastic and team oriented
• Strong organizational and detail orientation

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner per menus
• Barista duties as required
• Overtime offered for on-site events
• Maintain cleanliness of front of house areas and utensils
• Follow food handling and storage procedures to ensure safety
• Monitor inventory and report shortages or discrepancies
• Provide friendly service to students and staff during meals
• Participate in training on food service procedures and safety
