Job summary

BaxterStorey is recruiting a General Assistant to join our team at one of our Bristol area contracts. Based in Portishead, the role offers 27.5 hours per week at £12.71 per hour, with 28 days holiday including bank holidays and free meals while at work.

You will support front of house and kitchen operations, drive beverage sales, and help maintain food safety and service standards. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Ideally have experience with both kitchen and front of house.
• Barista trained a plus.
• Have good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer focused.
• Fun and enthusiastic.
• Have excellent organization skills.
• Demonstrate great attention to detail.
• Be a team player and enjoy succeeding as a team.
• Have a flexible approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast & lunch throughout the week with a keen eye on quality.
• Drive beverage sales through our beverage bar focussing on consistency and upsells.
• Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas including organising dishes and utensils.
• Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
• Participate in training sessions and meeting related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
