Job summary

Pertemps Network Catering is seeking a School Catering Assistant to support busy school kitchens across the Birmingham area. You will help with food preparation, serving meals and keeping areas clean, working Monday to Friday daytime shifts.

We welcome friendly, reliable candidates with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn Food Hygiene basics, with training provided where needed to ensure excellent service in educational settings.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or kitchen assistant roles, with a focus on service to pupils and staff.
• Food Safety Level 2 certification or willingness to train.
• Awareness of allergen information and safeguarding principles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and basic kitchen duties.
• Serve meals to pupils and staff in a friendly manner.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in kitchens and dining areas.
• Wash up and keep kitchen spaces tidy and organised.
• Support the catering team during busy service periods.

School Catering Assistant / General Assistant

Shifts : Monday to Friday between 10am - 2pm / 11am - 2pm / 10am - 3pm
Area : Across the Birmingham Area
Pay : Weekly pay £12.71ph

We are seeking friendly, reliable, enthusiastic & experienced School Catering Assistants to support a variety of school sites throughout Birmingham and the surrounding areas for the upcoming academic year.

About the Role

As a School Catering Assistant, you will play an important role in helping to provide nutritious meals for pupils and supporting the smooth running of busy school kitchens and dining facilities.

Typical duties may include:

• Food preparation and basic kitchen duties
• Serving meals to pupils and staff
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Washing up and keeping kitchen areas organised
• Cleaning equipment & emptying bins
• Supporting the catering team during busy service periods
