Job summary

Berkeley Scott is recruiting for a School Catering Assistant in Redditch. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous catering or kitchen porter experience who is looking for regular, weekday work within a school environment.

You will be assisting with the preparation and serving of meals to pupils and staff, supporting the kitchen team with daily duties, and maintaining cleanliness while following hygiene and allergen procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous catering or kitchen porter experience.
• Enhanced DBS check (valid).
• Food Safety Level 2 certification or willingness to obtain.
• Food Allergen Awareness certification or willingness to obtain.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.
• Team player and able to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and serving of meals for pupils and staff.
• Support the kitchen team with daily catering tasks.
• Wash up and maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
• Follow food allergen procedures to protect pupils with allergies.
• Travel between locations as needed for the role.

Berkeley Scott is currently recruiting for a School Catering Assistant in Redditch. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous catering or kitchen porter experience who is looking for regular, weekday work within a school environment.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join the team and support the smooth running of school catering services.

What you will be doing

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals to pupils and staff.

• Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties.

• Washing up and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas.

• Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.

• Following food allergen procedures to help protect pupils with allergies.

• Travelling between locations where necessary as part of the Catering Assistant role.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant or Kitchen Porter.

• A valid Enhanced DBS check.

• A driving licence is beneficial but not essential, as occasional travel to other locations may be required by the client.

• Food Safety Level 2 certificate, or willingness to obtain.

• Food Allergen Awareness certificate, or willingness to obtain.

• A reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.

• The ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions.
