Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a reliable Primary School Caretaker in Watford to join a welcoming school this September. The role covers general maintenance,Safety checks, and keeping facilities clean and well-presented for pupils, staff and visitors.

The successful candidate will be practical, well-organised, and proactive, with good communication skills and the ability to work independently. Experience in caretaking or facilities is desirable, and safeguarding awareness is important.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or similar role is desirable
• Practical and hands-on approach to maintenance and problem solving
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure school environment
• Knowledge/Maintenance/Promotion of safeguarding

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the school site
• Ensure the school buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment are maintained to a high standard
• Carry out regular health and safety checks and report any issues promptly
• Assist with the opening and closing of the school premises when required
• Liaise with contractors and external services as necessary
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors
• Cooperation with colleagues in order to deliver the best possible outcomes
