TeacherActive Ltd is seeking a Caretaker for a mainstream secondary school located in Caerphilly. The role requires overseeing repairs, safety checks and day-to-day site management to keep the school environment secure and well-maintained.

You will liaise with site staff and cleaning crews to ensure smooth daily operations. Ideal candidates will have practical maintenance experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in repairs and general maintenance work.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for giving instructions to contractors and support crews.
• Organisation, multi-tasking and scheduling skills.
• Awareness of building systems inspections including heating, cooling, lighting and alarms.
• Problem-solving for addressing safety and maintenance concerns.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and maintenance on school facilities.
• Ensure safety checks on heating, cooling, lighting and alarm systems.
• Communicate with site staff and cleaning staff on day-to-day activities.
• Coordinate with contractors and support crews as needed.
• Maintain orderly records of repairs and safety inspections.
