Job summary

TLTP Education is seeking an experienced Caretaker for a Birmingham primary school on a temporary to permanent basis, with an immediate start and 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will maintain buildings and grounds, ensure safety and security, support health and safety procedures, and liaise with contractors to keep the site well presented for pupils and staff.

Qualifications

Caretaker – The Role

A welcoming primary school in Birmingham is seeking an experienced and reliable Caretaker to join their team on an immediate basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school site, ensuring the buildings and grounds remain safe, secure, clean and well maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.

Duties will include carrying out general maintenance and repairs, checking the condition of the school buildings and grounds, assisting with health and safety procedures, managing site security and reporting any issues that require further attention.

The role will also involve opening and securing the school site, carrying out regular checks, moving furniture and equipment when required, liaising with contractors and supporting the school with general site-related tasks.

You will need to be practical and hands-on, with the ability to identify and resolve minor maintenance issues while knowing when more specialist support is required.

This is a temporary to permanent position, initially running until July 2027, with the opportunity for the successful candidate to secure a permanent position with the school.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
