Bright Star Talent is recruiting on behalf of a supportive primary school in Birmingham (B19) for an experienced School Caretaker to join their team.

This role involves maintaining a safe, secure and well-kept school environment, working closely with staff to ensure the building and grounds are ready for pupils each day.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking, maintenance or site experience.
• Previous experience working within a school is preferred.
• Good practical and general maintenance skills.
• Reliable, organised and proactive.
• Good understanding of health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Good communication with school staff.
• Professional and responsible approach to working within a school environment.
• Fully enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Safeguarding & Compliance: all compliance checks completed before employment commences.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure the school site each day.
• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs around the school.
• Ensure the school buildings and grounds are clean, safe and well maintained.
• Complete regular site, health and safety checks.
• Identify and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Set up rooms, furniture and equipment when required.
• Monitor the security of the school premises.
• Liaise with contractors and visitors attending the school site where required.
• Support the wider school team with general site and caretaking duties.

Bright Star Talent is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a supportive primary school in Birmingham (B19) who are looking to welcome a reliable and experienced School Caretaker to their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and well-kept school environment. The role will involve taking responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep and security of the school site, working closely with school staff to ensure the building and grounds are ready for pupils and staff each day.

The working hours for this position are 6:00am - 2:00pm, Monday to Friday. Previous experience working as a caretaker or site staff member within a school is preferred.

As a School Caretaker, you will:

• Open and secure the school site each day.
