Job summary

Vertas is seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our Facilities Team at Moulton CEVC Primary School, Newmarket. This role is 17.5 hours per week across 44 weeks per year, with early morning and evening shifts, supporting maintenance, cleaning and safety across the site.

You will be part of a team delivering high-quality caretaking services, carrying out light repairs, checking heating, lighting and alarms, maintaining health and safety records, and assisting with event setups and deep cleans when

Qualifications

• Customer service and communication skills in a similar setting.
• Team player with excellent service across the Vertas Group.
• Ability to adapt and respond to change in a growing organisation.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out day-to-day maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working.
• Carry out basic checks and maintain Health and Safety records.
• Monitor site stocks and undertake cleaning duties.
• Attend training courses including Health and Safety.
• Ad-hoc duties for evening setup for meetings/events.
• Deep cleans using cleaning machines.
• PAT Testing experience desirable; basic maintenance tasks.
